She died 3 weeks after they where born so i hand reared them. however i would never breed again, i couldnt go through that again! so i now have Ralph and Daphne neutured.

Ralph sleeps in a 1.5 metre by roughly 70 cm cage. It sounds really small compared to him but i only work 10-3 so im at home all the other times!

He was in the kitchen and his sister was in the living room but he stopped eating and got deppressed so i brought him back to the lounge. I am trying to get them bonded but she needs time to heal after her spay. So far though they seem to hate eachother!

Sorry now im giving you my life story!

Ralph seems to be happy with his cage, i really would love for them to be friends eventually so he can live in the kitchen where he cant destroy everything.

I use the edge guards which are made to stop a baby hitting there head hard on table edges etc. Its stopped him chewing the doors frams etc. That could be another option? Its not that pretty though but definatly does the job!

the first photo is of Pepper (their mum) and the agouti/black one is Ralph and the Haaskluer type is Daphne.

You do get attached to them so much, contis are like dogs, when Stan died people at work didnt understand why i was in floods of tears at my desk but its cos he was my baby, i have two cats, but Stan was my baby!

I must say Ralph is fantastic, i want him! All three of them are beautiful, its such a shame about Pepper.

Well im soooo excited, ive just reserved a black/steel buck (ready in 2 weeks) and ive found a large hutch and run for him for in the conservatory at nights, although i intend him not to be in there very much!! Cant believe i have to wait two weeks though lol!! I havent even seen him, i just seen pics of him and his parents and grandparents and fell in love!!

Re: Housing for a conti

I cant wait to see a photo of him! Ralphs being a little sod lately. Iv brought him a new litter tray but hes deciding on pooping and weeing in hise used to "hold it in" over night then go straight to his tray in the morning but lately hes just going in his cage! i feel terrible it means a bum wash every morning!

Have you thought of any names yet for your new boy?

I went in to work crying too, some of the staff just didnt have a clue.

This is going to be the longest two weeks of your life!

Re: Housing for a conti

Wow, he is lovely.

Why not go for Ralph? !! I like human names to. Rogers quite cute! or maybe Geoff!

His parents are so pretty too. He has lovely big ears. both of my contis seem to have one ear that drops. At first i took them to the vets because i was so worried about it. Turns out there is nothing wrong, i kind of wish both ears stuck up. There parents where both contis with pokey up ears so i cant understand it.

Let me know when you think of a name, im so nosey hehe
