Jasper getting 'done' today

I've just dropped him off at the vets - I'm so worried about him.

I think it is for the best - he is 4 months old but a bit bored and lonely (despite all the toys I can think of). I am going to try and bond him with a female bunny from a rescue in the next couple of weeks, once he is recovered so he can have some company.

So now I spend the day waiting for the call to come and pick him up!

I've organised a cage for him inside for tonight - is there anything special I need to do otherwise?

Re: Jasper getting 'done' today

I'm so pleased - I don't know what I was so worried about!

I've just gone and picked him up. He has eaten a whole bok choy plant that I took to the vets for him! I put him in his little hutch in the house and he is hopping round like mad, eating everything in sight I am tempted to let him into the run, as he is doing bog laps at the moment but I think I will leave him in the hutch tonight and back into the run tomorrow, just in case.

Apparently our vets don't stitch rabbits, they use glue stuff so I won't have to take him back to get stitches out or anything. I am so relieved

Re: Jasper getting 'done' today

Oh I was just about to reply but noticed your response lol.
I'm glad he came back fine! Sounds like mine, she got done last week and was hopping about everywhere, I restricted her movement though obviously she is a girl and a spay is a bigger op, but maybe try to keep him restrained a bit just incase he does himself damage!! My vet used glue as well, along with butterfly stitches, I was very glad as I think I would have found real stitches very stressful!!
Glad he is eating that's great!

Hehe
Thank you
I was so worried reading everything but he is fine. Although I think he is still a bit groggy as I had the longest cuddle ever! He normally hates being picked up. I'm glad he didn't have stitches. Glad your little bunny is doing well too

Re: Jasper getting 'done' today

I hope Rusty went well at the vets, Bigbird.

I have just got home and stuck my head in the top of Jaspers hutch to check he is ok and the top slammed on top of my head. It really hurt but Jasper came up and started licking my nose! I was so excited as he has never licked me before. At least I know he doesn't hate me after taking him to the vets!

In other news I have found him a girlfriend from RSPCA. They are going on a bunny date next week

Thumbs up Re: Jasper getting 'done' today

Hi,

Yes it went very well thank you very much. Thought he may sulk for ages but he didn't!

I cant wait to get this litter training sorted as its a real pain cleaning the carpet each time! I guess 2 and a half weeks with us is early days.

I am glad that he wont be spraying up any walls and humping any visitors legs!! He is very good natured but isn't keen on being picked up so that will one to try and crack too!

x

Hehe,

I am focussing on the same things! Litter training and getting him used to being picked up. He is a sweet heart but as soon as you pick him up he scrambles and then starts biting anything near his head - clothes and skin!

Goodluck, let us know how you get on
