A quick update.

Unfortunately, one of the babies we were hand rearing died earlier today (We named it pudding). However, the other one (Known as nugget until we can determine the sex) is doing really well, it's 3 days old now, it's drinking a lot more and is getting a lot stronger.

Still, I'm incredibly annoyed at the people who brought the babies into the shop.
For a start, they thought the mother was a male.
Secondly, although the mother had killed 2 of the babies, she was letting these two drink and was taking care of them, yet they still took them out, minimizing their chances of survival.
And the last thing, which is horrible..Turns out there were 5 babies, not 4. They found another dead baby in the cage with the mother 2 days after supposedly cleaning the cage out after the birth, so now the mother may have to be put down as it's covered in maggots and has been for a few days.

Some people should not be allowed pets

Re: A quick update.

disgusting

If this was a dog the RSPCA would be all over it, I would report them anyway or ask their vets too, not cleaning the cage out properly is complete neglect

Re: A quick update.

Am so sorry for the loss of your babies! But they sound like they didn't have a good start even before the separation....so it is in no way your fault! I admore you for trying so hard! Poor poor rabbits!! xx
