Re: Any one made there own..

Yep we have! Main thing is makesure you use galvanised square or rectangle mesh so its fox/bunny proof. We made a new run for my happyhutch, pics are here: Like new 6ft hutch with brand new quality 6ftx4ft run thats a 6ftx4ft run. I did have an 8ftx6ft collapsable run i bougbt off the internet but was very poor quality for the money compared to what you can make.

Re: Any one made there own..

Thanks for the reply and that looks very nice. You did a very good job!

Do you have any idea what wood to use on a rabbit run?

I've bin outside tonight and I'm going to be doing mine
Hight 2FT
With 9ft
Length 6.8m

So, that's going to be rely big so they have lots off room to move around.

I'm also hoping to make a new hutch about
9 ft by about 4ft to sit ontop off the run so they also have more sleeping area.

Thanks
Paul

Re: Any one made there own..

My dad made our one using 2"x2" lengths of timber and with galvinished mesh as crofty said to prevent foxes getting in.

You will also need to put something on the bottom of the run to stop foxes digging in/rabbits digging out, we just put big chicken wire ont he bottom of ours as it was kinder ont he rabbits feet.

...will have to try to find some pics of my rabbits old house/run so you can see what it looked like

Re: Any one made there own..

I would sit the run on paving slabs or concrete, foxes make mince meat of chicken wire. I cant remember the wood dimensions, will see if the other half can remember! We used slightly thicker wood at the sides of the hutch part to give added support, it was thicker than the original run wood.

Re: Any one made there own..

My runs are made out of 38mm wood batons, which is about 1 1/2 inches. I just get the sawn timber from the builders merchants. 2 x 2 inches is fine aswell, just chunkier. I use the galvenised mesh on mine as well. Have put the runs onto slabs as its safer and easier keep clean
