rank rain water clearly gets their vote

My two silly bunnies truely are unbelieveable! I give them fresh water every day in their bottles on their hutch and then we've got empty ice cream bucket we put the rabbits toys in, in the night and last night it caught the rain and was a bit rank but before I had the chance to tip it out they were drinking from it! So I put clean water in another one and they haven't even touched it - its been the horrible, mucky rain water all the way today! I mean, I assume its ok for them - just made me laugh! bless them!

Re: rank rain water clearly gets their vote

When I lived with my mum and the rabbits had free range of the garden they used to love drinking from the fish pond. We had wire over the top so they couldn't fall in but they used to sit on top of the wire and drink from where they'd made the wire dip in the water from their weight. I think they liked using it to cool their feet off in summer, I quite often caught them just sitting on it.

Last winter with all the snow we had Rosie loved nothing more than sticking her face in the snow and eating it despite having fresh water available. I just put it down to natural instict, what they would drink in the wild puddles and pools its not like they have someone to give them fresh water from a tap each day.
