Poor Rosie

Another trip to the vets today. Appointment is at 4.10. Let Rosie and Dylan out into the run at 8 this morning and they were fine, both happy and running around. Went out at about 12 to check on them and Rosie's face looks like she's been dipped in water and her front paws are soaked. Thinking maybe she'd been playing in the water bowl I sat to watch her for a bit and noticed she's doing the thing with her mouth again, sticking her tongue out and chewing with nothing in her mouth. She's refusing all food even mashed banana that I made her so its her teeth again. The vets are fully booked all week but have fit me in at the end of afternoon consults so she can be seen today.

I'm starting to really worry about Rosie and her teeth, every time she has them filed and is anaesthetised she takes longer to wake up. She's five now and has been suffering with her teeth as long as I've had her, which is four years. With each time she has her teeth done I panic thinking she's not going to wake up and it send my blood pressure through the roof. Maybe I should contact that bionic vet guy to see what he can do with her teeth, maybe make her some falsies.

Re: Poor Rosie

Been to the vet and they had to clip one of her teeth there and then as it had a sharp point that was cutting her tongue. She's going back in for the day tomorrow to be gassed and have it filed down properly.

Sending kind thoughts to Rosie and you. My poor Clover (RIP) had teeth problems, it's hard.

Re: Poor Rosie

Thanks everyone. I'm talking to my vet about possibly having her referred to the bionic vet guy to see what he can do about making her a brace. My own vet can't do it himself but he's taken pictures of Rosies teeth from her last dental and will take more tomorrow to send to him and see what he thinks he could do in the way of trying to straighten her teeth so they wear down naturally. I don't know how possible it is but I want to try anything now if it will help her. My biggest concern if this would be possible is how I will afford it with a baby on the way and Rosie not being insured it will be a struggle but hopefully what I have saved in the rabbit fund will cover it. Will wait and see what the futre brings for her.
