Holes

Right, I was at home and Rabbits was in there Rabbit run, but then next door phoned up to say one of the Rabbits was in there garden.

I was so confused, but went and got her back, It turned out they dig a hole and got out, I knew this could happen one day as there always doing it and I keep covering up the hole again. This was about 8 at night as well so could have bin foxs out etc.

So any way, how can I stop Rabbits from doing this, the best thing would be to put them back on hard floor, but with my mum being blind she don't rely want them there as there in the way.

Ideas????

Thanks
Paul.

Re: Holes

Best thing to do if you can't put them on hard ground is to lay wire mesh under the grass so they can't dig out. Don't lay the wire on top of the grass as it can hurt their feet but you'll probably need to get rid of the grass thats already down then put the wire on the soil and put new turf on top. Do this about a foot bigger than the run so theres no way they can get through it. I've done this with my run mainly to stop foxes digging in but also to stop bunnies digging out. This is probably the only way to stop them other than putting them on concrete.
