Oh no Rosie rabbit is a little boy

We bought 14 week old Rosie with her Mum Teddy 6 weeks ago they have been living together with 1 year old doe Bun who they bonded with immediately. Bun had been living as a boy rabbit until she moved to live with us a couple of days after Rosie & Teddy arrived. I recently thought Rosie was trying to assert herself by trying to hump her mum & Bun as my other 2 does used to hump each other when they were younger. Anyway on 13/8 Rosie began humping Bun. Bun seemed a little upset by this so I picked Rosie up & discovered to my horror than Rosie is a baby boy bunny ! On Friday night I put Rosie in a old hutch we had on his own. I felt really bad as he had never been on his own before. He survived the night but we didn't want him to be a lonely bunny. We decided to try him in a small run with 8 month old brothers Max & Chip. There was lots of foot stomping from Rosie but just a sniff of interest from Max & Chip, no fighting or mounting. Saturday night we put Max & Chip in the hutch with Rosie again just foot stomping but they did eat together.Today in the small run again (see the pics ) they are getting on fairly well together, she/he is seen jumping over them both. Hopefully in a few days we will move does Lolo & Ruby into the boys 5 foot double tier hutch & put the 3 boys in their Willow palace, not quite sure how the girls will feel about that. Teddy seems a little quiet today but at least she has still got Bun for company.

Re: Oh no Rosie rabbit is a little boy

If I were you I would get both the doe's spayed ASAP. He's humped both of them and males can reproduce from 14 weeks so you could have two pregnant does, one of them being related to the buck so lots of problems for the babies. Its also for their own health benefit to spay doe's to prevent uterine cancer so you'd be doing them a favour.
