Litter training advice needed please?

I started Patches with her litter training. I was waiting for 'her spot' but she has 2. I put the litter tray in where one of them was and put some of the wee and poo in there. Hoping that she will go exclusivly in the box but these are the issues we have so far:

She is pooing everywhere really. She has gone wee once outside next to her cage but genrally goes inside her cage. She poos wherever she is when she needs too. Any tips? I've just put sawdust in the litter tray as this is what she is used too with some newspaper at the bottom. I could use paper cat litter but I'm not sure if it's suitable?

How can I encourage her to go in the litter box? Eventually I'd like to leave the cage open when we are down stairs all the time. But at the moment it is just 3 hours after my daughter is asleep because of the poos and because my daughter is getting overly excited with bunny (she'll calm down in a few weeks).

Thanks for reading.

I trained Willow by putting some of her 'wet business' and some of her poops in the litter tray and placed that in corner when she went the toilet the most. She just selected another corner at first but soon got the idea when I moved the wet stuff and tray! She does most poops in there but not all - the main thing is she's weeing in same place and I can change the try at regular intervals.
At Pets and Home there's rabbit litter tray pellets - actually made from wood which expand. They last a while too. but you can use alsorts - newspaper, sawdust, shreaded paper etc. Good luck!

Thanks, at first she thought it was a bed She has been in other places I was thinking of cleaning the litter tray then putting some of the fresher poos and all her wee from the time she didn't go into the litter tray and do it like that each day. Hopefullly she'll get the idea and thanks it's the first time for me to litter train any pet as my cat was already changed when I got her.

Let us know how it goes. Other folk on here may have additional and more useful advice - I'm not new to rabbits but fairly new to litter training, bonding etc. People on here on soooo helpful x
