What is a good sized run?

I'm planning on getting or making a run for our rabbit as I would love for her to be able to spend some time in the garden as well as in our home. She has a small cage in the house so I was planning on having something that has a shelter that when I eventually start college again she can go out in first thing in the morning and then I will bring her in and supervise her in the house. is 6ft by 4ft suitable?

Re: What is a good sized run?

the bigger the better. if shes going to turn into a big rabbit you need to consider that many shop runs just arnt high enough.

you will also need to slowly introduce her to the grass or it can upset their tums.

During winter it wouldnt be a good idea to move her from inside to outside as the temp differences will be too much.

the larger of these 2 runs is ok size wise, quite a few of us on here have them as they are so secure (including myself). Zoo plus is the cheapest place to get them.

the best thing about this run is you can set it up indoors and it wont leave any marks like wood.
or another option would be to let her have a whole room to herself. like the dining room or kitchen. put a baby gate up or some mesh panels over any wires/sockets.

What if she chewed the wall paper? :O I'm rented so I couldn't risk that. I think I'll get the run as soon as i have any money to spare

mine have never showed an interest in the wall paper, as long as they have lots of hay and wood chews I dont think they'll bother. you can also buy stop chew sprays suitable for rabbits in good pet shops and equine places

George loves nothing more than chewing my wallpaper. The sprays don't work well on rabbits as they have a "dry bite" so don't taste it till its already off the wall in their mouth. George seems to like the taste of them too. No matter how many toys George has he still insists on trying to grab wallpaper when he thinks I'm not looking, its even become a game for him where he'll watch me from the corner of his eye whilst he's doing it to see if I'll look round.
