Is our fence too low?
Patches has full run of the house for about 5 hours a day. But I was wondering if I can let her outside or not. I don't have a run right now, our fence is about 3ft high so I thought it might be too low and she'd probably jump over it. Should I give the garden a miss until we have a run?

Re: Is our fence too low?
I've seen Sugar do a cat spring 4ft high once, it really suprised me how high they can jump so I'd wait until you can get a run sorted, if they hopped the fence I imagine it wouldn't be fun trying to catch him/her again!

Re: Is our fence too low?
I let Barney have a run on our lawn twice a day, I am with him at all times. We have approximately an 8' fence, I have seen Barney launch a good 3' into the air from a standing position, not trying to reach great heights. It made me wonder if he could jump our fence.
A previous rabbit I owned he didn't jump, or rather I didn't see him jump and at that time we only had a 3' picket fence with either 1' or 18" high of chicken wire. I think it depends on the rabbit. Having said that I wouldn't risk a 3' high fence now after seeing Barney. Sue |

Re: Is our fence too low?
i'm sure they'll be plenty to pay with a sniff at before she even considers jumping the fence. It would be possible but as long as shes supervised I cant see any harm in a bit of fresh air, just watch out for any poisons plants.
