Re: toilet training
Well while I'm living at home, Rini only gets supervised time out of the cage so she never really goes to the loo out of her cage :/ but I suppose there may be more opportunity when I get my own place and she has numerous rooms to venture into without me hovering over her all the time lol
The only thing she doesnt jump into the litter to do is to eat her... yeah... lets just call it "cleaning herself" which she likes to do just after a guest has said how cute she is......-_-' I dont think she does it completely sometimes tho cause occasionally she steps it into the fleece which is annoying, or she gets it stuck on the bottom of her foot. She gets it off herself in a couple days tho lol better than freaking her out by washing her feet lol But other than that I've never had a problem. But she is the first rabbit I've ever litter trained. |

Re: toilet training
Mine have been quite difficult to train, and I've tried several items in the litter tray before finding the perfect combination...
Firstly, I tried paper and hay; that didn't go down well. Then I noticed that the sawdust in the cage was wet; so they were peeing on the sawdust. So, I removed the sawdust from the cage, and I now have litter in the litter tray, with newspaper on top, then sawdust sprinkled on top of that. They won't pee anywhere else. Every day I empty the newspaper out and put fresh stuff in, or scoop up the wet sawdust and replace it. It's all about finding what your bun feels most comfortable in, I guess! |
