paxo the rooster
Hi this is Paxo the rooster he just turned up at our garden a couple of months ago, we were not sure if we were going to keep him at first and it did not help that my hubbie spent 3 solid days digging and rotivating and planting seed potatoes before we went on holiday for a week when we come back he had been jumping over the fence and dug the lot up, Paddy was not very happy.. but we eventually managed to catch him and clip his wing
Any one have any idea as to what type he is? [IMG] [/IMG]juliex

Re: paxo the rooster
Looks like a Welsummer to me too
![]() - probably about 6-12 months old from the size of his tail feathers and no spurs yet. I reckon he's started crowing a little while ago and either the neighbours complained, or the deeds of the house say no roosters, either way the family where he was raised couldn't keep him and didn't want to neck him... can't blame them really, he's a handsome chap unfortunately it is one of the things you have to deal with if you're going to raise chicks - at least half the hatchlings turn out to be roosters, which you either have to rehome (next to impossible), cull humanely or... pass onto someone else to deal with.... ![]() |
