Am hoping we can get some chickens this year. We have all the material for a coop, just have to build it.

they are great we got the name off madagasca

my run is home made and im just building them a new house thats raised up so they can go under it to shelter and use it as a dust bath

I want to get a couple of ex batter chickens & a Golden Brahma cock & hen.

Just a bit concerned about the dogs bothering them so we need to make sure they are secure & concealed so the dogs don't stare at them & freak them out all day!

you will probley find they wont be that bothered by the dogs and if the cockerel do the job they will see the dogs off
maurice attacked next doors cats the cat now gives them a wide berth

when i have built there new house i will be building a new run for some silkies so my little un can get more involved with them

silkies are one of the best chickens for kids they are very tame and love being handled.... i had 2 white silkies from 5weeks old but one turned out to be male so had to get rid of themit was a shame as they brightened the garden up.... cockerals are a no go in my area..

good luck with building the new run and coop....i build all mine its a lot cheaper and stronger than most shop brought ones
