How can I tell if my duck has diahrea?

This is not a very pleasant topic. I had a duckk pass away recently to unnatural cause and I was informed that diahrea is a sign of illness in ducks, but I don't know how to tell if they have it or, er, healthy mess conditons... if someone could help I'd be extremely grateful.

Surely you can just look at the poo to see if its runny

If i give my chooks too much fruit and veg they get the squits

I know what you mean, the poop seems runny all the time lol. Look for changes in colour, stickiness, frothiness and odour, and get used to your ducks normal poop so you check every day to make sure there are no signs.

Sorry to hear you lost a duck recently but do you have anymore details on why the other duck suddenly died? Thats worrying.

Re: How can I tell if my duck has diahrea?

Thank you for the reply. I'll do my best to keep up with my duckies. My dear little duckies.

My duck that died, which was a suzie (and mama of very young babies) died from botulism. Its a disease that is sometimes in bare earth and mud, from what I understand. We spread lime stone in the ducky pen to eliminate the threat and do so periodically.

The little papa, Itty-Bitty (though he is the biggest ducky I have) was pretty sad for awhile, but we both got over the loss.

I periodically give my ducks Dr. Christopher's Anti-plague (Super Garlic Immune) which is an all-natural and safe cure-all. For people and critters. I try to be very careful now with those little babies. I feel I owe it to their mama--she spent a whole month of her little life in my room to hatch them! And it was her first clutch, too. She hatched six fine little babies.

Anyway. Enough about me. I got kinda random... whoops...
