New gosslings and rats
My geese hatched 2 new babies last month. Within 2 days they were gone. I think rats crawled under the mother and took them. Has anyone else ever had this happen? Mother is laying again and I refuse to have this happen to her again, so I chicken wired an entire stall for her, but rats are tricky and I cannot keep guard 24/7. I will not use poison or traps due to all the animals around. Can I move her nest to a safer spot (under my front porch where there are no rats) and have her still lay on the eggs? I prefer not to move it, I like my ears, eyes and nose...The cats in barn don't make a difference in the rat population. Thank you for any help.
