My ex-bats have red, sore looking breasts

We've got three ex-bats and two of them have got quite red looking breasts. They don't appear to be in any discomfort, and the feathers are growing back on their bare breasts, but was a bit worried it might be red-mite? Or maybe due to the fact they don't roost at night but sit on the floor of the coop on their droppings! Has anyone got any advice/answers?

How long have you had them?

Letting them sleep on the floor on top of their droppings is not a good idea as the amonia in the droppings can burn them.

Get them to perch by lifting them on to the perches when it is dark, they will soon get the idea.

Thanks, I have been trying to encourage them to perch, but the daft chucks are fairly militant about disobeying... but on the plus side, the redness is going. Hopefully will vanish entirely when their feathers finish growing back!
