Sick Duck

Hi
Taffy has been lame for just over a week. The vet give me some oral baytril, but I asked for tablets as I don't think I've great at getting the other in her. I have been putting her in the bath twice a day, to clean her self and for the foot. Is there anything thing else I should do, or try?

Re: Sick Duck

Have they said what is causing her to be lame.
If you can not get her to drink the baytril you can always ask the vet for a syringe (without needle)and give it her that way.
I hope she is better soon.

Re: Sick Duck

Just a thought but is there any lead in the area?
I keep ducks and mine are fine but a friend had ducks and they all slowly started to go lame then went off their legs nd started to die.
the vet said it was possible lead poison from the river.
I brought them to my place and within a couple of weeks all where fully recovered

Re: Sick Duck

Hi, I have got the tablets and I'm getting those into her fine. The vet is treating it as bumblefoot, they no signs of cuts or sores, and it's just the one leg and it happened over night.
