Chicken has large chest???

Just noticed while putting my chickens away that one of them seems a bit large at her chest. I picked her up and it feels soft, could this be food stuck??. Sorry but I only got the girls at the weekend so all this is so new.

Now im kinda worried about her, she is fine in all other ways.

Thanks x

Re: Chicken has large chest???

is it warm or hot to the touch ?

is she eating and drinking?

sound like her crop is impacted (clogged up)

some times this can be squeezed out by hand as long as the bird is not in any pain with

but best thing to do to start with is seperate her away from the others

and give her only grit to eat and fresh clean water for at least 24 hours

she will get moody as she will be hungry but doing this should help break down whats impacted

when its gone down let her back in with others and keep a eye on here and keep her of long blade of grass etc as this is what will clog up

but do keep a eye as this can kill

hope that helps abit
