my duck has a sore neck

my female duck has a scabby neck from where the male has been mating her and has obviously been rough with her. I used some diluted tamodine on the scab today as its about the size of a 10p.

Is there anything else i can do to make this better? or is it a natural thing for it to happen when hes mating her?

Thanks

Re: my duck has a sore neck

its normal for him to do that, she should soon heal up
you could also separate them untill he stops jumping on her

Re: my duck has a sore neck

It is natural, but you need to make sure the wound doesn't get infected so keep doing what you are doing and also check under her wings on her back in case his claws have gouged her, this sometimes happens and you can't see it as the wings cover it. x
