Re: advice on chickens plz
Hi Cavalierlover123
Chickens are a fantastic addition to any family, and they all come with there own little personalities, you will love them!
Well as you may know rhode island reds are rather big and are known as pullets at around 12 weeks of age, the should lay around 20-22 weeks although we are going into winter now so may take longer.
They are seasonal layers laying the majority of their eggs in the longer days, Now in winter with more dark nights egg production does slow down.
If you need any more advice just post back, I'll be happy to help. I was new to chooks a few years ago now I hatch my own little guys
Good luck!
