I have 3 chickens, and 4 female runner ducks and a goose. They have all stopped laying - we were averaging 5 eggs a day until a couple of weeks ago.

I dont know how old the chickens are but the ducks are young and have just started laying, I just am baffled as to what is happening. I've read that runners lay daily all year round so I am clueless!

Anybody got any ideas?

You know what, just after posting this I popped outside to have a look around the laying areas just in case, the legbar came out from under the pampas grass - which is where she usually lays, and there was a fresh warm egg! It's the first one in a couple of weeks so hopefully the other hens and the ducks will start again soon.

The bad weather has meant the light is slipping away earlier than normal, so they could be going into a moult early. If they are running off to lay in the hedges then they may soon go broody and stay out all night altogether, be careful to keep an eye on them

I did wonder about moulting. The hen always lays under the pampas grass, and the ducks just randomly lay all over the garden, it's a bit like and easter egg hunt every day here!

We herd them into the house at night and count them all in so should notice if one disappears off to sit.
