This is my duck, Sandy. Before I had two ducks, him and Mandy, but a CAT got Mandy. I'm very sad because of it by the way
![]() He has brown and yellow "furs", pink bill, and orange legs. Now I have few questions and I hope you all will help me on these
That is a lot of questions. Please don't be mad and saying that I didn't do a research before I got them. I did, but I need "experts" opinion. I love my duckling Sandy so much and I want to make him feel safe, happy, and comfortable with me. Thanks. I hope I get any response A.S.A.P ![]() Last edited by petamuppet; 13-04-2009 at 08:05 AM. |

Re: For Duck People, Help Me
1.Not sure what breed.
2.Duckling can swim by day 2. 3.You can buy duckling crumbles or chick starter as a main food and other foods as a supliment. 4.Yes duck droppings are watery. 5.Not sure about this one but make sure he has always clean fresh water that he can put his hole head in. 6.Mine dont really mind being patted the seem to settle down when i do but they dislike being touched on the head. 7.Never trust a dog with any bird. 8.Yes if you give him treat (bread works well) when you cal his name he will sonn learn to come when called. 9.Yes but be carefull the you dont cut too far. 10.Yes you will need to get him company. Also the ''fur'' is called down just so you no if you need anymore help just ask Stuart-Aus Last edited by Stuart-Aus; 13-04-2009 at 12:14 PM. Reason: some more help |

Re: For Duck People, Help Me
Sandy will like swimming as he gets older. Once his adult feathers come through you probably won't get him out of the water.
Chick crumbs at this stage are the best main food for ducklings with other green stuff foods as well as earth worms and slugs (they go mad for worms!) as treats or supplements. You can also offer Koi Carp pellets as a treat. Another good idea is to grate cuttle fish bone over their feed at least once a week to help with calcium. Ducks are happier kept in pairs or small groups. However if you have two drakes you have to watch out for fighting!
