Re: I would like to keep chickens

Hi chickens are great fun. Apparently pekins are ideal for smaller gardens as they don't scratch around like the bigger chooks.

I haven't clipped the wings of mine as they aren't flighty (up to now anyway).

If you give them a draft free home, room to roam, good quality food, wormed regularly they'll reward you with a tasty egg, how often depends on the type of hen.

Experienced people have advised having three hens, incase you loose on then one won't be on their own as they love company.

I belong to the Poultry Keeper Forum, a friendly informative site --they have a section on there which shows lots of breeds and their care etc which may be useful.
