Please don't say you are going to leave it in the closet for 2 weeks. You need to get a cage and make sure its secure from the dogs.
What made you want a duck and is it going to be a house duck as they make a lot of mess and really do better in a garden.

The pet shop should be able to advise you on the best food to buy.

Re: New to ducks. advice?

I am sorry but if you have done a lot of research before you got him why do you need to ask what they can be fed?
You can not keep him in a closet either,he needs to have light and heat at that age.
An indoor rabbit or guineapig cage can be used with a heat bulb above one side for heat.

If you are planning on having him indoors the only thing i can say is do not do it, They are very messy and will soon stink the place out

Just by googling 'feeding domestic ducks ' brings up a good variety of information , with the 4th one down even giving nutritional requirements

If you keep him indoors you will soon have a house full of smelly poop as ducks poo alot
