petzplazaUK is on a distinguished road
has anyone kept chickens..........

in the bottom of an aviary, when we made the aviary we added a low down hatch for some of the birds (i have a teil with one leg who gets around as good if not better than the more abled but put it there in case it was needed) as well as a higher one but tbh they dont use the lower one , i have 11 cockateils and 2 conures in there, some of the cockateils have bred before but had a few disabled chicks and found some with injuries from the parents (before the conures went in when it was just teils) so i avoid them breeding at all now and because the bigger birds are in there with them they dont seem to try anyway.
i was considering helping a few ex batt hens and wondered if they would be ok in the bottom of the aviary where they have their own access to the flight for excercise.

i would be grateful for any suggestions
