Re: eglu

I was going to get one, then realised the price...not a chance.

Bought a wooden one for about £130 for our 3 chooks and it does the job nicely

Chicken Coops | Buy Hen Houses And Chicken Coops Today

Ours is the Norfolk green, which if I have managed it, is on the link above. That is the company we got ours from too.

We have 3 hens, and they have the coop but we also bought fencing stuff from OMLET which means we section of a part of the garden from them too.

Re: eglu

I have 5 chickens in an Eglu cube with a standard run but all day free ranging. I bought in because they are so easy to clean and are pretty resistant to red mite. They also have a great resale value if ever I want to sell it.

Re: eglu

Hi.

We have 4 chickens in an Eglu Go. It is great, not as nice looking as the classic but I was on a budget at the time. We didn't buy the run as we wanted to build our own to give them more space.

When I read about red mite and how hard it was to get rid of especially in wooden houses I decided to opt for a plastic one. I am really pleased with it and it is easy to take apart and clean. I can't comment on cleaning out wooden ones I'm afraid but I am sure there will be plenty who can advise you on that.

I think the wooden ones look nicer but I wouldn't swap mine because of the ease of cleaning. If you look on ebay the 'Gos' are much cheaper as most people want the classic.

Good luck with your search.

Re: eglu

I have a cube and 4 Eglus. I love 'em. I also have other housing. You can get some bargains on fleabay if you look regularly. The dreaded red mite is much easier to deal with in an Eglu.
