Re: eglu
I think they're smart and modern looking, but the price is crazy! Even second hand ones are a silly price.
I like the idea that the kids can see the chickens and theyre a bit protected from foxes etc, but I've still never gone for one. I like to build my own chicken coops really. Well not me personally, but my uncle does jobs like that for me ![]()

Re: eglu
I'm probably rtoo late to be of use to the OP but...
I started with the original Eglu nerarly 7 years ago and I loved it. Bright, attractive, foxproof for those weekends we might go away and amazingly easy to clean. Someone made me an offer for the original Eglu 3 years ago and I took the opportunity to upgrade to a Cube with extra run. Yes, they are pricey, but giving them a thorough clean takes mere moments and at this point in my life time is something I am in short supply of! I love the Cube;not as pretty as the Eglu but allows my chooks to be totally and utterly secure from foxes, not need care if we are visiting the inlaws for the weekend (happens occasionally), and is a warm, safe and appropriate home for my girls. Omlet's aftercare was great too, when i had some minor hitches. |
