Newbie

Just wanted to say hello!

I have just embarked on keeping hens. Am feeling really quite nervous today as got the girls on Saturday afternoon and although we left them yesterday we were in and out all day so felt more at ease. This is the first time they have been left in the pen we built for a long period of time and feeling pretty nervous about it.

Re: Newbie

Hi hun and welcome to the forum,
Is the hen house attached to the pen? or is it just a pen on its own? x

Re: Newbie

I keep mine the same way, they have a hen house and a huge run and are really happy. I love hearing them cackling. I find them relaxing and the bonus is fresh eggs. I have one french copper blue, one silver duck wing and rwo lavender leghorns. They all have names but are collectivly known as the girls,. I am debating on getting a cockerel but am worried the crowing will annoy neighbours. Does anyone else keep a cockerel with hens?
