Hi

I am looking for some advice - I'm moving into my partners home in the next 6 months, I have a 1 year old Jack Russel and my partner has 3 ducks (2 female and and one male) the male is more of a house duck and 3 years old.
tHow do I go about introducing my dog to the duck and vice versa without any disasters?

This is worrying me quite a bit and any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

This is going to sound a little crazy but worked for my mum. She had a lab and a jack russell and then got 4 chickens. She was told to hold chicken and dog firmly and bounce bird up and down a few times on the dogs head!!!! Its something to do with establishing dominance, don't pretend to understand it. Her 2 dogs watched the birds from a distance but never tried to catch or attack them. I've got chickens too and did same with my cats, but don't think they were ever that interested in the first place, far too busy catching mice.

I have a staffy a cat 2 rabbits and 2 chickens and they all play out together, if your dogs is nasty around small animals then be carfull but my dog ran up to them a few times wanting to play and they chased her away and shes even been pecked by them she is fine now, i would hold one of the ducks and let the dog have a little sniff see what his reactions are like good luck.
