Gestation Help Please!

My little lavender Pekin called PomPom went broody on Sunday 19th April, she has a clutch of 6 lavender eggies (plus one Jubilee Orpington eggie we sneaked under her!) I can't for the life of me remember how long they should be 'cooking' for - can someone advise? Thank you

Re: Gestation Help Please!

Let her be the judge of that, if they are fertile she'll keep sitting and if not she'll just cast them out. But the period of incubation is 21 days give or take a day or so.

Re: Gestation Help Please!

Yes, Ann, she did - out of the 10 eggs crammed under her petticoats (she must have laid some more!), I have 7 lovely little bundles of yellow and grey fluff

Here's a pic, at this point I didn't know exactly how many were hiding!

One baby was sadly dead and the two remaining eggs didn't do anything.

I thought the clutch wasn't bad for a first attempt though!
