Hello,
I am interested in dog or cat sitting/walking as I would like to gain some money, and I love animals and wish to gain more experience as I'm planning on becoming a veterinary surgeon one day.
I am 16 years old, 17 this year, and I will be going on to college or sixth form this year in September.
I have done two weeks of work experience in bishop Burton college and I mainly worked in the border kennels and I worked around walking dogs, cleaning them, cleaning after them and feeding them the right amounts. I also a dog myself (pug), I have had many cats and dogs as a kid (unfortunately they have passed away or are living with my grandparents).
I am very ambitious and bright and can be up for any challenge, I love animals and wish to care for them more in the future. The problem is I'm not sure how to start dog or cat sitting/walking or get some other type of experience.
Thank you:)

Hi I do this as a job. You may struggle at the moment as being able to drive is definitely a bonus to this job. I'd say insurance is a definite must, most people look for pet sitters with insurance and then you know you're covered so no need to worry about it.
I sorted that and then I advertised on local buy and sell pages on Facebook, I put leaflets up in the local shops and word of mouth is the best form of advertising. I did an animal management course which obviously isn't essential but it's an added bonus. Good luck! If you have anymore questions please feel free to message me x
