re new addition on animal planet tonight

dear members, i watched tonihts special addition on the 49 fox terriers that were resqued sometime ago in the bronx, did you see the last 2 terriers that were rehomed, one have them was the male, shortly he died after a year of being reholmed, it was very sad he was a beautiful terrier and lived his latter days out with some kind people he was 14yrs old and had a wheelchair made for him that yr because he was born paralyzed with deformed legS, his previous owner used to use shock treatment on all 49 terriers shortly after his wife died , to stop them from barking, I think the world gets crueler day by day, there will always be animals abused in this life, that is the way of this world, at least he died happily in the care of someone who loved him, I sat down it bought tears to my eyes to see the people bereived that lost him, his sister was paralized too, luckily she was also adopt by a carer of the spca, im glad at least there are somewhat you call kind people out there who have the heart to give an old disable animal an extention on there life.

Re: re new addition on animal planet tonight

I did'nt see this programme Wendy..I agree with you, some of the things that you hear cruelty-wise is beyond belief The Law Should be Harsher with punishments...It IS a Good job that there are kind people around to help these abused Animals..Some people don't understand that Animals have Feeling too They feel Fear, pain, upset just like us.

In Fact Alot of Animals are 100% Kinder than some people I've read about.

Thumbs up Re: kind ppl who adopt seniors + disabled pets

i don;t get Animal-Planet anymore + i miss it...
i remember when they confiscated those animals, i;d have loved to see the follow-up.
thanks so much for the summary!

there have been several successful Seniors-for-Seniors programs thru various rescues,
which specialize in placing geriatric pets with retired owners - many can empathize with special-needs pets,
like diabetic cats, wheelie-dogs, and so on.

all my best,
--- terry

Re: re new addition on animal planet tonight

That one was so sad. I was glad the one that got a wheelchair ended up having a happy ending. I loved that they were getting people coming in look after them

Re: re new addition on animal planet tonight

dear readers
the dog that had the wheelchair his name was chanelle
he was 15 when he died, he was adopted at 14yrs old but his legs were deformed and grew upwards, chanelles teeth were also deformed, its was very pitiful to see him walk on his back knees, chanelle stole the hearts of many in the resque, the staff were shocked at his passing, chanelles sister was too paralized, she was pretty bad too, her name was brodie,
if you would like to read more on this article, type in the 49 fox terrier resque,
it will open in a pdf file, the adobe reader,
yours wendy

Re: re new addition on animal planet tonight

sharon
louie was amazing
and his disabilty wouldnt slow him down he also was a courageous little terier
but them they wouldnt of lasted long if they had not of been resqued,
they were shocking, they were mostly paralized because of the shock gun,
thats what they used on cattle, sick as sick he was he deserves the same,
