Exclamation Minn, USA: cop-k9 accidentally euthed in muni-shelter?!

Howard Lake K-9 Officer Accidentally Put to Sleep

this is simply asinine -
a police dog was missing for 2 weeks, and the police-Dept just found out
that he had already BEEN picked up, held, failed a behavioral-eval, and
was killed in the local municipal-shelter.

i find it especially significant that this dog, a black Lab, =failed= a
shelter beh-eval and was not considered a safe placement risk -
this dog is a narc-detective, not for apprehension.
he was not trained for bite-work, and should (theoretically!) not have been
the victim of the all-too-common abusive, violent handling which is labeled
as *training* by many USA Police-Depts.

the average cost of these dogs is $15k, purchased trained, plus the time
for the human-partner to train with the dog, anything from 3 to 6-weeks.
what a stoopid waste...
