Arrow $2.2-Million-USA judgment after mauling by 2 dogs

Gig Harbor dog-mauling victim awarded $2.2 million | Gig Harbor - The News Tribune

Gig Harbor, Washington state, USA.
a woman left her sliding-door open for the convenience of her service-dog & a visiting JRT.
she awoke to find 2 pit-type dogs in the room, attacking the resident dogs.
the JRT died; her SD survived; she was mauled when she tried to save the dogs being attacked.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
don't leave a door open overnight - the dogs can wait to pee till daylight.

there had been 14 complaints about the roaming dogs escaping & terrorizing residents - mostly the female,
Betty, who belonged to her neighbor; the other dog was being pet-sat by Betty's owner.
Pierce County ACC had not done anything substantial about the roaming dogs at all.
they were held approx 50% at fault for the mauling, so tax-funds must be used to pay the judgment,
as the county is self-insured. This will be a tremendous blow, financially.
