Arrow Campaign: CARGO CRUELTY to shut-down air delivery of captured primates

from Change.org re a petition to quash the trade in wild-primates.

Quote:
The so-called 'primate trade' has evolved into a multi-billion dollar industry -- predicated on cruelty, pain, & suffering.

Each year around the world thousands of monkeys are abducted from the wild or bred and shipped by air --
on commercial flights -- to research labs and other facilities. Many are killed in the process.

Stealing monkeys from their natural habitats to perform invasive experiments on them is cruel.
But more than that, the primate trade represents a threat to the continued existence of entire species
& the ecosystems from which they’re taken.

The “Cargo Cruelty" campaign aims to put an end to this inhumane industry by making it as difficult
as possible to transport primates for research.

Many airlines are already refusing to participate in the primate trade. Just a few weeks ago, American Airlines
announced they will no longer transport primates for research either. However, a few airlines are still carrying these live captives.

Join the 'Cargo Cruelty” campaign & tell hold-outs Air France, Air Canada, & Vietnam Airlines to join
other major airlines in taking a stand against the primate trade.

These monkeys originate from countries like Barbados, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Mauritius,
the Philippines, Tanzania, & Vietnam.

Transporting primates by plane from these source countries to destinations like the UK & USA means confining them
in small, poorly ventilated cargo crates in extreme temperatures for as long as 15 hours.

These displaced, frightened monkeys are delivered to research labs - where they face invasive tests, experiments,
& early death - or breeding facilities - where they're caged to breed more test subjects for the industry.

This campaign against the primate trade is supported by actor and comedian Ricky Gervais, more than two dozen
Members of British Parliament, and more than 3,000 people using Change.org around the world.

to stop facilitating the cruel primate trade:

Thanks for being a change-maker,
