Ok. So they may not be the most glamourous Pet in the world but this is a story that I feel i must share as it will make you chuckle and gasp in equal measure.

So, its twenty years ago now, 1990 and my dad has taken me to the local fair.
Ive begged him and begged him to have a go on the 'Darts' game where you win a proze if you get a certain score.

So being the kind man that he is, Dad rolls up and has a pop...He wins!
Youve guessed it... A goldfish.

So we take the little fella home in his little plastic bag they give you him in and we all expect it to basically die after a few days or something.

15 years later and he is STILL GOING STRONG!

Amazing in itself right.

One day, I got up and sadly the goldfish had somehow managed to jump out of his tank and was lying on the carpet.
I was really upset and called my Mum.
She was in bed at the time and said she would deal with it when she got up.

15 mins later and Mum was up and ready to deal with what we thought was the poor dead goldfish.

On closer inspection...turned out the little dude was still breathing!
So we put him back in his tank and he actually lived for another 5 years.

Cool (and true) story.

Man, i loved that fish.

RIP little one. a REAL survivor.

what a wonderful story you must of known how to keep him and to live all those years is amazing and very true that a goldfish can suvive many ordeals as such as done before.
my goldfish i have was bought from a local garden centre yrs ago 14 now but may a little longer as a quess.
i named him goldy and he had live through nitrite water quality problems that accured and last week we nearly lost him there was a large stone in his mouth he was choking on it he fought for hrs and noway could it be removed,
i come in the room a 1.30 in the morning and got a paper clip straited it out and slid it down to his gullet, luckily it came out and hes still going but hes got a bend in his body with age.
i hope goldy has many golden years left and he has his baby to he 7

Wow, that is an amazing tale and a lovely story. I was worried it was going to have an unhappy ending for a while there!
May you continue to have many happy years left with Goldy.
