Groomers advise against giving pets a close shave during summer
Groomers advise against giving pets a close shave during summer according to an article I read on south coast today. "Leave a blanket of hair so the animal won't get sunburned," Tiverton, R.I., pet groomer Sue Viveiros says. Read more on that at pet grooming news.

Re: Groomers advise against giving pets a close shave during summer
I was told that a layer of coat helps keeps dogs cool in warm weather as it prevents the sun gettng to the skin. My 3 dogs have not been unduly affected by the warm days we had - the two Labradoodles love the heat.
As long as dogs are not walked for long periods in the heat of the day, and they are able to find shade there should be no problem. |
