Re: Chinese Crested Dog
I'd love love LOVE one of these hairless cuties! Think they are adorable & being a beauty therapist I'm perfectly qualified to look after all that exposed skin
![]() Only prob I have is I always said I'd only have rescues cos I feel that they need homes more than other dogs & I'm sure no-one'd be daft enough to give ones of these up,especially after forking out for them as I'm sure they don't come cheap being a rarer breed in the UK. Oh well...I never thought I'd find a Basenji & look what happened (ok, he's a mix but he's still GORGEOUS!) xxx |

Re: Chinese Crested Dog
We had a lovely lovely cc pp come to class - bred by the owners.
Lovely temperament - shot through the classes - to smart for us !!!! Is that right that both hairless and pp are born from the same litter???? What is the 'best' breeding - a hairless mum/a pp dad ?????? Just very curious MM |

Re: Chinese Crested Dog
Quote:
If you mate a hairless to a hairless or a hairless to a puff then both can be born in the litter. ALL hairless dogs have the abilty to prouce hairless and coated puppies - making it impossible for the puffs to ever be bred out. If you was to mate two puff together it would be IMPOSSIBLE to produce hairless puppies in a litter, as the puffs do not carry the hairless gene. Many people within the breed will frown on breeders doing puff to puff matings as like I said it wont produce hairless puppies. The hairless to hairless mating and puff to hairless matings are done all the time - although you would want to add a puff in over a certain amount of generations. If you put two hairless together its possible for a puppy two take two copies of the hairless gene, which would be refered to as the lethal gene - puppies that take two copies NEVER survive and will die within the womb, be reabsorbed or die shortly after birth being deformed. Hope this has helped a little bit - thanks Rainy ![]() Last edited by Devil-Dogz; 03-01-2011 at 09:17 PM.. |
