Re: Bull Terrier

My mum and dad lives out in the sticks ,and owns land ,they got this orchard where the dogs can free roam and my bully always used to come back up from there with one or two Rats in his mouth My dad used to joke saying the rats was so big they had mustaches and cigars in their mouths
But allot of people forget that bull terriers wasn't just bred as a dog fighter he was also bred for rat catching and if my memory serves me right a miniature Bull terrier owned the record for the most amount of rats killed in a certain time ! Apparently miners used to bet on it!

thats right ! Its got huge rugby ball type head !Huge poweefull body ! some say its infamous so called locking jaws bite is second to none ! They seem to have the strength to hold on as long as it wants and just for fun! although to some this might seem a bit intense ,they are people dogs ,rather than guard dogs ! All though they do bark at strangers ,most of mine would leave with the milkman and lick him to death ! Which is a good thing considering how they can hold on! They act a clown a lot and make the strangest grunting sound which i think is down to the shape of there head and nasal passages here a video of my older bull terrier bully playing on a stick!
YouTube - bully leves the park
another video on a stick
YouTube - bull terriers infamous locking jaw! my DOG called
there are allso awsome swimmers, here another video
YouTube - bully swims in the river severn
They got to be a great breed as princess ann has nine of them

Re: Bull Terrier

Thanks for the info + videos, impressive jaw power! So its a very good tempered dog - fine, is it tolerant with other dogs?
I've seen that unique egg shape head around on the net but never in my country. Somewhere somehow I might try to see what it would cost if I was to import one...
Thanks garryd.
Brian.

Hi,

Please note that this discussion thread should be used for discussing changes to the 'Bull Terrier' Breed Profile Page in the Pet Encyclopedia.

Cheers

Its ok. The way it works, is if you visit any page in the pet encyclopedia, you will see a 'Discussion' tab at the top of the page. If you click this tab it will create a new thread (unless it already exists) in the 'Pet Encyclopedia' forum where you can then discuss the encyclopedia page with other editors and talk about any changes which you would like to make to that page.

Thanks
Mark
