yes, if he had been hurting i wold expect to see his ears drop, a flinch away from my hand, his head snapping around to point at my hand when i hit the sore-spot, and such reactions; sitting abruptly, tucking tail or butt, spinning the sore-side away, etc.

if he did not react + i found no knots or warm-lumps radiating heat, then i would just watch his urine stream carefully for any sign of pink; bruised kidneys, etc, color the urine.
i would make a statement only so that they have a description + an area; then when he repeats his rotten abuse, they have prior complaints. WRITE down as much detail as U can recall, + take it along with U; if U think of other things, U can add them as they pop into Ur mind - any odd details, height, skin color, beard, glasses, tattoo, clothes, hat?, anything.
i hope they grab the rotter. and i hope Ur pup is fine, no behavioral-impact + healthy!

if it has, run a hand down the side that was kicked, while he stands - and watch carefully for flinching, or trying to SIT to avoid touch there. feel for hot-spots that radiate more heat than the surrounding, or knots + bumps - bruises feel warm + congested.
poor boy - i would still call the coppers, they need to be looking + listening, so if another dog is set on, they have a prior record of similar events - and the Shop-keeper might know a name (given name perhaps) or a street or neighborhood where the brute lives.

YIKES, hun! do U know this kid, or where hes from?
i;d report it to the cops, if he does it to one dog he will do it to others - even without a name, a description of the kid + where it happened will give them a heads-up; there Will Be other similar events, and they will at least be aware of the potential.

poor dog!... is he physically all-right? no cracked ribs, no blood in his urine?

arent U glad that PF is back up? LOL... i was so frustrated when Crufts was on, and i could not post a word about it, arrggh.
life here goes on - thankfully, spring is slowly approaching, but 2 weeks later, it will be 90-degrees, so i am enjoying the 50-degree days.
