Hi
Thanks for responding.
Basically We bought a kitten from a breeder 2 and a half years ago, and 3 weeks ago she suddenly couldnt breath, so after some rather expensive vet bills she was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and was given lots of pills to take, we were told they would work or they wouldnt. The vet said that with her being so young then it was more than likely a genetic thing, she had always coughed and her heart neat was always on the fast side but other than that she seemed absoliutely fine. So i contacted the breeder about this as i thought maybe she should have the mother and father checked out and any siblings she may have. She was nice abd said that sge was sad to hear about what had happened and that she had not heard of it before and her cats and my cats siblings were all fine and she must have just been unlucky, and told me to let her know of any change, Well last week my cat died at 2 and a half years old because of the condition and the more i read on it the more it suggests it is a genetic thing and the lady is still breeding from my cats father(her mother has been retired) I informed her of my cats death and she said she was sad to hear it etc but i am wondering whether i need to let the gccf know about it with it being a genetic thing? Is there a chance the breeder would not admit it if there was a problem as they would miss out on money? not that i am suggesting that all breeders would do that but there are breeders out there that do it purely for money.
Any advice you could give me would be a great help thanks for listening to me waffle on.

Hi there.
I'm a Bengal breeder and though I've only been breeding for a couple of years I've had a lot of litters and some experience with Bengal breeders - not all good.
Can I help? I saw your post.
