My Jasper is almost 5 (May the 20th) He was hand reared by me from about an hour old. I've had lots of cats in my life but Jasper is my baby boy. He's my 3rd son :-)

Your Jasper looks so much like my Jasper in the 2 pictures I've seen so I landed on your page to see if there were any more pics of him...Jasper is not the only name we have in common either I'm a Polly too!

      Hi Polly,
How are you and Jasper doing? I do hope you are both well and would love to hear an update from you.

I am sorry to hear that Jasper has not been well again.....Polly, please sign up and post over on DCC, many many of us have been where you are now and TBH, the vets cannot always help as we think they can. Please don't give up hope, and do not feel you are on your own.
      Kindest Regards,
      Claire

      Hi Polly,
I am rather worried that I have not heard anything back from you since last week....is everything ok? Could you drop me a quick line just to re-assure me and let me know if the test kit turned up ok. The sooner you can start to regulate his Blood Glucose the better the chance of remission.
Hoping to hear from you soon,

Hi Polly....did you receive the package yet? I have been looking out for you over on Diabetic Cat Care and there is a whole bunch of experts waiting to talk you through getting started!

I post as charliesugar over there by the way....oh, and you sent the message below back to your self rather than to me! We have all done that. I suggest you go back and edit your message to remove your address for security.
Hope to see you later over on DCC,

      Hi Polly,
I managed to dash to the Post Office before work and sent it out first class....a new meter and also 100 syringes as we use ones with tiny increments. It cost £6 in total so I hope that is ok, you can pay by donation on the site.
I understand totally about the huge expense involved in FD.....but now that you have the meter and can learn to test you don't need to go back to the vet at all until you need new insulin!
I found that forum when my cat Paddy was first diagnosed and was blown away by the level of support....you will be talked through every single step of the process and I guarantee that Jasper will very soon start to look and feel better.
As soon as your membership is accepted, start a new thread to introduce yourself, give details of jasper's history, the food he is on etc

Hi Claire - I have registered and am waiting for approval. Any ideas of the money involved - not being tight but I am a pensioner and for the last three months have spent more on Jasper than I have coming in! As long as it is not a fortune I am good to go. Thanks so very much for your help. Polly

      Hi Polly,
Have you joined up at DCC then and are you interested in trying the Tight Regulation approach? We ask for a donation to cover the cost of the postage of your kit, details should be on the forum. I will try and get to the Post Office today and get the kit in the post if you are ok with that donation ( I am sure it wont cost much to post)
      Kind Regards,
      Claire
