Yeh I am to walks were much more enjoyable when we used the Halti.

Wouldnt they get cold outside because of their shortfur? I could understand if they were outside in nice weather while she was at work but not all the time i can say our dog will defiently be a house dog.

I'll defiently to that if his parents get to be too much , you'd think after nearly five yrs togeather I'd have some common ground with his parents. Thankfully next year we should be on the other side of the country if everything pans out for us so visites shouldnt be often.

I remeber once when I was younger and we had Dutch we watched this training video of a man useing a choke chain the dog looked soo unhappy. My dad tried a choke chain on Dutch but in the end we got her this halti things for her head because she pulled like a train but she never did when she had it on. I would never use a choke chain personally.

I feel bad for her dobes Who would want a shut down dog.

This is just making be dread seeing my boyfriends family again lol

Im sure your dogs are well behaved Nicky no need for her to step in and use something as horrid as that.

I can just see this happening with my boyfriend mother when we move in and his family come for visites. I'll just remind them were the front door is!

I've had disagreements with them about my cats sorta feel sorry for theirs.

The ear scratching sounds like her alright, she had her own big pillow to lay on. Glad she wouldnt want to sit on me I'd be a pancake.

Why did she want to take the dogs for a walk? Does she use them on her own dogs ?

Yeh she was. We hadnt seen that side of the family in ten yrs. So we wet somewhat forced by my dad. Glad I did though I spent more time with the dogs (Paddy the bouvier, two cross breeds and two terriers) then I did with my family.

She loved having her ears scratched and one of the cross breeds which was big tried sitting on me too

Just read what you MIL did, my god I'd be livid

Here she is. He had two from pups but the male passed away. She 13 yrs old but from her bark you'd think she was much younger.

Yeh I had those photo's on my laptop and tought I'd make an album of them, I have a few more to add.

    Hey Nicky!
Just had Paddy weighed today at the vets and he's 31.7kg (or 5 stone to be exact ).
I am starting to feel his pull when he's on the lead (generally when he sees another dog and forgets I have put him on the lead lol ).
He's going for his Kennel Club Puppy Foundation and Bronze certificates at the same time which is going really well.
His guarding instinct is starting to kick in a little bit, and last week he wasn't sure whether to let my brother up the stairs and into my parent's first floor flat (my dad had to pull him back from the top of the stairs where he was stood like a bouncer watching my brother enter the front door).
He still gets attention everywhere we go and is turning out to be a really friendly, although slightly aloof at times, four legged companion.
Everyone tells me that he is definitely 'my dog' and is closer to me than anyone else, so I am starting to leave him at my dads for a few hours each week and encourage OH to come out more on walks to try and avoid a potential problem in the future with a 100lb dog with seperation anxiety!
And how about you? How are your four legged friends reacting to the new 2 legged additions to the family? Have any of the animals taken on the role of 'dog-father/mother'?
