Ahhh, i knew about their health issues, but didn't realise how bad they could be. Are all yours mixed? I also have three dogs that are mixed, i might stick to the mongrels. lol.

We were looking at rescuing a bull dog, but i'm unsure as i actually have never met one, do that have any traits? He looks lovely.

Thanks, I just hope we find a way of all living with it without putting him in situations that make him nervous - well the least possible. Such a shame as he's such a happy dog when you are playing with him at home. Thanks for the post tho x

but what would happen to puppies bred by breeders if people didn't buy them? all dogs and puppies deserve a home, one is not better than the other.

Hi vic, thanks for msging back i got her from an add in the paper, from being on here i know that was the wrong thing to do but she was georgeous lol i dint see her mum or dad, but spoke to a lady whos got one of ellies sisters and she recons theyre pure staffs and that shes seen both parents. Ive still got my doubts lol

Biography

I have 3 rescue dogs. Max and Lilly are street dogs from Greece and Sammy came from somebody who did not want him anymore.

As a first time dog owner in Jan 08, Max and Lilly came as a bit of a shock. It has been the hardest thing to date that I have had to deal with.

They have had issues with aggression (both dog and human), nervousness, fear, house soiling to name a few. At first I made every mistake you could make and I actually made Lilly's nervousness worse, by giving affection at the wrong time.

I have now reached a stage where the aggression is manageble and I can have all my dogs off the lead (not together), something I thought impossible.

My solution was simple (eventually!). Make yourself the pack leader and understand how to communicate with your dog! Dogs need clear leadership and discipline, and when this is lacking they develop behavioural problems.

I hope people who are having problems get some motivation from hearing about our successes. x
