Newcastle - Missing Cats - Possibly theft in the area.

My beautiful bengal x cat, Claude, went missing on 16th August last year. We've had no luck finding him. Since then i've heard of at least 6 or 7 other bengal/tabby cats that have gone missing from the Newcastle area as well.

I have been speaking to on of the owners and we both think that people are stealing these cats to sell on.

When Claude went missing I had the police round but just got told that cats always go missing and them come back...

But this is different. Fair enough one bengal/tabby going missing but the amount that are missing atm is odd. I am constantly online looking at lost and found sites as well as looking as cats for sale.

I'm not sure what can be done as there's no evidence. Do you think that it's possible that these cats have been stolen?

I would also like to mention that I have rang the council on several occasions to see if any cats have been found. And only 1 cat matching the description was found dead in someones garden.

Hello, he went missing from Fawdon which is in Gosforth, Newcastle.
But when I've been searching theres been several others missing too and all are Bengal/Tabby cats. So it's a bit odd.

Its strange that there have been no sighting of him in this time was he chipped?
Still some cats have turned up after a long time missing - so there may still be hope

It does seem like a trend that similar types are going astray, yet I haven`t heard anything about it around here. Glad mine are house cats when I hear of missing ones. I can only imagine them just going missing & not knowing where or how they are.

Is there anything similar to the dogs lost thing for cats? Maybe to see if bengal types are going missing frequently from other areas too
