Missing Cat Newcastle UK

Hello there,

My Cat, Claude, has been missing since August 16th 2011. He is Microchipped and Neutered but went out without his collar on (he does usually wear it but I had took it off him as he was trying to get it off)

He is a Bengal Cross and looks like a little brown tiger. He's very friendly so I wouldn't be surprised if someone has been feeding him.

I put posters up everywhere, put leaflets through doors, searched animal shelters, rang vets, went out day and night and in all weathers, joined online search sights, made a facebook page and tried plenty of other tings..

Since he went missing i've had several phonecalls from different people saying they've seen him.

The first was from near by. A man saying he seen a cat that looked like Claude heading into some bushes dragging his back leg.
I went up immediatly and had a look around the area.. I searched this area and surrounding areas for weeks (day and night) and had no luck.

I then got another call a couple of weeks later. This tiime a woman saying that a cat that looked like Claude was in her garden with a pink collar on and it was limping (suggesting that this was the same cat that the man had seen). I kept an eye on the area and asked around another woman had seen the same cat the day after we got the phone call from the lady.

I looked everywhere again and had no luck whatsoever. It wasn't till last weekend that we had another call. This time from a different area - just over the other side of the A1.
Someone had said that a cat had followed a woman and her daughter all the way down a long road and into a local shop.. the shopkeeper scared the cat off.

I went over to the shop and asked and luckily the lady the cat had followed was there. She said the cat was skinny in build and long. Was light borwn with black spots and stripes and that it looked healthy.
It sounds exactly like Claude. So me and my boyfriend have put posters up around the area and put leaflets through all of the doors.

I'm not really sure what to do now though. I keep going over and looking but get upset when I don't see him anywhere, I also get upset when i've not had a phonecall. It's been well over a month now and I know people keep telling me stories of cats that have been gone for months and years and just turn up but I'm finding it so hard to stay positive.
I mean I don't know which cat is Claude (if any) or if someone has stolen him, if he's injured etc...
I did ring the council and no cats have been reported dead so thats a good sign I guess.

Do you think I should give up or do you think there's a chance?

Re: Missing Cat Newcastle UK

one of mine has been missing for 3 months & i'm not giving up yet - remeber the weather is getting colder so if hes having a wonder...he'll be put off

have you scented the garden yet? empty hoover bag contents and hang worn clothes on the washing line
this will spread your scent over a wide area for him to follow

post on loads of websites - mymoggy.com, animal search, gumtree then google missing tabby cats in newcastle - if yours comes up in the first page, that means anyone who finds one could find you

was he chipped?
and you said you checked the RTA list?
on the cat chat section there is a 'sticky' at the top with lots of things to try

Re: Missing Cat Newcastle UK

Hope you find your cat. 3 months seems a long time Have you had any calls etc ?

Yeah, I put the contents of the hoover bag out, his litter tray and some of my shoes (for some reason he loved them)

I'm on all of those sites and check daily. I also posted a poster on my own website. I've had a few follow ups from these sites but no luck yet.

Yeah he is chipped.

Thank you. I have tried everything on the list, may need to do the list again.
Cat's a so sneaky and hard to find. I just hope we both have some good news soon.
