Lost - Female Silver tabby - Wiltshire
My beloved cat, Widget, went missing on Wednesday last week (21st September). I had put down some food as usual before my partner and I left for work that morning but it was untouched when we arrived home.
We have searched every inch of our house and garden, verges and adjoining fields, the local school and even bins. I have put up flyers and posted them through doors to the ten houses behind us and every house (about 40!) to the front where we know she sometimes wanders. I have also called vets, the council and nearest cat home. No sign.
What worries me most, however, is that there is a building site approximately 300 yards from our house and all the ground work is being undertaken, lots of digging and foundations being laid. I asked the builders if they had seen her and, apparently, she was last seen playing near the site entrance. She's only roughly 2 years old (she was a stray that found us) and she is very wary of anything and everything.
My partner is convinced that she's jumped into wet foundations and got stuck or has been accidentally buried by the digger and it breaks my heart to think that this could be the case. I can't get on to the site as there are sturdy barriers all the way around, but the builders did a quick glancing check of the area (I think they were just humouring me) and found nothing.
I've never felt so low or cried so often since she disappeared. I just feel so guilty for not knowing where she is and being able to help.
I have attached a couple of photographs in the hope that somebody on here will have seen her. I will also be contacting the local newspapers today to place a "missing" ad. She has been spayed but has no chip. If anyone on here happens to be local to Westbury, Wiltshire, and does spot Widget, please call me on 07825 040572.
Thanks.
Sarah. x
