Question My baby won't eat..

My 1½ year old gecko wont eat all of the sudden!
She has always eaten two times a week, with a great appetite. Now all of a sudden she has not eaten for 8 days!
Does anyone know what is going on? Could she be sick? What should I do?

Exclamation Re: My baby won't eat..

She still has not eaten anything, and her belly has swollen up a little bit. I think she might be a little bit sore, for she won't let me pick her up! Anyone got an idea what's going on? I don't want her dying on me!

Re: My baby won't eat..

maybe ring the normal vets for their advice on the situation if no one else answers on here as i've no idea how things work in Sweden or you could join RFUK(reptile forum uk) for free which might be of more use.

Re: My baby won't eat..

Don't fret! She's a leopard gecko? They go on hunger strikes fairly often, 8 days isn't bad at all. Female leos are known to go off their food when they're ovulating. Those fat tails keep them fed even if they're not taking anything in.

As long as her tail isn't skinny, she can and might wait quite a while. If she's really taking her own sweet time about it, you can always try changing the food you offer - sometimes a tempting new kind of insect is all it takes to get them interested again!
