I would have to say beardies, they are the dogs of the lizard world, easily tamed and affectionate when they want something They can also have thier comedy moments..

As said set up is the expensive part ( but this is with any exotic pet ), after that they are easy to maintain, and never say no to good grub

Except they're nocturnal, so you'd hardly see them as far as I've experienced....

agree, I have 2 who are very skitish and I only see them come dusk. Also for a beginner who may be quite 'grabby' their tails come off easily

My beardies also crave attention and scratch the glass to come out, they also love a bit of sun so in the summer you can sit with them on your shoulders, they just bask wonderful pets

Yeah, my young neighbour had one, and he caught hold of it, and was super careful, but it dropped it's tail next day. =[

Yah, we used to sit out in the garden with ours, with the little ones (all 100 + of them!!) in high-sided tubs, and the adults on our shoulder or laps, or just roaming in the grass =]

That's completely down to each individual gecko. Mine is up and doing at 6ish I love beardies too but i prefer geckos

best starter lizard by far are beared dragons they are hardy and have got such great personalities, i`ve got 8 so think I might be biased
